RoSPA Current VacanciesRoad Safety Officer (Scotland) An exciting opportunity has arisen to help deliver RoSPA’s Road Safety Programme in Scotland, based in our Edinburgh offices. The successful candidate will develop and promote RoSPA’s road safety advice and information for the public, companies, local authorities and government agencies, act as a media spokesperson, run seminars and training courses and support the road safety objectives of the Scottish Government. You will be involved in producing professional guidance, delivering training and assist in the development of the multi agency road safety approach to help reduce death and injury on Scotland’s roads. The successful candidate will be required to develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, such as the Scottish Government, Road Safety Scotland, Scottish Accident Prevention Council, Scottish Community Safety Network, Local Authorities, Police Forces and Fire and Rescue Services in Scotland. To succeed, you’ll need excellent oral and written communication skills including public speaking, plenty of enthusiasm and an analytical style of thinking. Educated to at least degree level with a qualification in a relevant discipline, you will be a confident and self-motivated individual able to work on your own initiative. It is essential that you have a full driving licence, and the post will involve extensive travel throughout Scotland and occasionally the rest of the UK. Occasional evening work and overnight visits may be necessary.
