 Under health and safety legislation the main requirement for employers is to conduct suitable and sufficient risk assessments. Indeed, risk assessments form the lynchpin of health and safety management. Workplace Transport Risk Assessment
| As on site transport remains the second biggest cause of accidents in the workplace, causing around 70 fatalities and over 2000 serious injuries every year, it is no surprise that this area is a priority for the Health and Safety Executive. Tackling this HSE key issue must begin with a thorough assessment of the risks. However, as workplace transport is a complex issue many health and safety managers are not confident in their ability to identify the hazards and correctly assess the risks. This new course provides a solution by furnishing delegates with the knowledge needed to meet their legal duties to risk-assess workplace transport. |  What will the delegate bring back to the workplace?● An understanding of the issues involved in the effective management of workplace transport ● An insight into the legal and business issues linked to workplace transport management ● The ability to identify typical hazards and risks associated with workplace transport ● The ability to apply the principles of HSG65 to workplace transport management ● An understanding of how to undertake a ‘suitable and sufficient’ workplace transport risk assessment ● A thorough understanding of active and reactive monitoring techniques within the workplace. All delegates who successfully complete the course will be awarded a RoSPA certificate of training. |

Fire Risk Assessment
| Following the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, it is now compulsory for companies to conduct a Fire Risk Assessment. This is a major change in legislation and fire certificates are no longer issued or in force. As an employer, or as someone who has control of a workplace, you must put in place ‘suitable and sufficient fire risk assessments’. The changes outlined in the legislation represent the most significant change for over 30 years, and greatly simplify the route to compliance. This two day course has been designed with the advice of a senior fire professional specifically to help you comply with these laws. |
What will the delegate bring back to the workplace? ● The delegate will have a thorough understanding of the legal requirements for fire risk assessment and costs associated with not managing fires ● The delegate will be able to identify typical sources of ignition and how fire spreads ● The delegate will be able to conduct fire risk assessments and know how to review them regularly. |

Construction Design Management Awareness
| Revisions to the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations came in to force in 2007. The new, simplified Regulations revise and bring together the 1996 CDM Regulations and the Construction Health Safety and Welfare Regulations 1996 into one legal code. Having been involved in consultations to help develop the new Regulations, RoSPA is now ideally placed to communicate the changes to safety managers as well as offer practical advice on how to comply, and realise the business benefits. | Who should attend? All those who manage or are involved in construction and demolition related projects, either directly or via contractors.
