Every year in the UK we face the challenge of reducing:
• about 350 fatalities to workers and members of the public due to reportable accidents at work
• about 1,000 deaths in work related road crashes
• some 12,000 early deaths due to past exposure to hazardous agents, for example asbestos
• over 36 million working days lost due to work related accidents and ill health
Our role at RoSPA is to focus our resources in ways which will help to reduce these figures and contribute to sustainable safety change.
