RoSPA Press Office : Press ReleaseSeptember 21, 2006 The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents is to stage the latest of its highly successful Safety Awareness Exchanges in Leicester. RoSPA has been running the innovative events during the last year to help health and safety professionals gather all the information they need more easily. The Safety Awareness Exchange at the Leicester Marriott Hotel on November 10, in association with Lex, offers a completely flexible approach, allowing delegates to concentrate on issues that concern them. There will be 14 discussion tables on subjects such as work-related road safety, moving and handling, risk assessment, workplace transport, asbestos and managing stress and violence. Fire risk assessment is expected to be a popular topic, with an update from West Midlands Fire Service on the latest legislation. People choose their own programme and dip in and out of discussions as they wish. They also have the chance to attend early-bird briefings from 8am on directors’ duties, improving worker involvement, best practice in behavioural safety and sensible safety. In addition there are detailed presentations on driver fatigue, developing company policies on occupational road risk, setting meaningful targets for change and reporting on corporate performance. Diane Preece, RoSPA Events Manager, said: “The Safety Awareness Exchange format has been praised as ideal for the busy health and safety professional. “We provide experts to explain the hot topics in health and safety so that people go away with new knowledge about the subjects which are most relevant to them. “It means delegates gain maximum benefit from the time they spend at the event.” For details call 0121 248 2120, or visit http://www.rospa.com/safetyexchange/ . |
