RoSPA CELEBRATES 100 PER CENT EXAM SUCCESS RATE

The Royal Society for The Prevention of Accidents is celebrating after delegates scored a 100 per cent pass rate in a health and safety course run by the charity’s training department.

All 12 of the delegates who took part in the National General Certificate for Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) examination course passed first time, and many achieved credits due to the high standard of their entries.

The course was run by Peter Dixon, RoSPA Training Consultant, and he attributes the success partly to the RoSPA revision course they attended just before the exam, which helps to cement delegates’ understanding of the subject at a critical stage.

RoSPA runs eight NEBOSH general certificate courses a year. In addition to these, the Society also recently received accreditation in partnership with Norwich Union Risk Services to run a new course for the NEBOSH Part II Diploma.

The course is run over five weeks on a module basis and already has 19 delegates working towards taking their Part II examinations in December 1999.

John Phillips, RoSPA Training Manager, said: "The Part I course looks at low risk environments while Part II looks at more high risk areas and activities, including possible life-threatening situations.

"This qualification is well recognised within industry and is highly coveted by those working in the health and safety field."
