DTI Modernisation Money
Between 2001 and 2004, RoSPA administered a Modernisation Fund of nearly £3million on behalf of the DTI. The majority of the funding was distributed to community based Home Safety projects throughout the UK.
Over 700 projects made bids for the funding and a total of 74 projects received up to £50,000 each to support practical interventions in their area. Funded projects included the provision of child safety equipment, exercise classes for older people, electric blanket testing, thermostatic mixing valve installation on bath taps and an educational video on baby equipment.
