RoSPA Scoops Another Award For Fleet Safety Software
An online risk assessment tool that gives organisations a better idea of their employees’ strengths and weaknesses behind the wheel has won a second award for its pioneering approach to road safety. RoSPA’s Driver Profiler was named the Innovative Road Safety Product of the Year at the Highways Magazine Excellence Awards. The award, sponsored by Shell Bitumen, was established to recognise products that are helping to achieve a reduction in incidents and casualties on the roads. It is the second time Driver Profiler has been acclaimed for its originality. In 2005, the software won a British Safety Industry Federation Product Innovation Award. Driver Profiler, which was developed in partnership with BT, is a psychometric test that uses internet technology to assess behaviour and attitude on the road without employees needing to leave the workplace. The results allow employers to deliver an appropriate level of driver training to each individual if required, bringing considerable benefits to the organisation, as well as to the employee.
RoSPA has been campaigning for more than a decade for employers and regulators to address Managing Occupational Road Risk (MORR) as a mainstream health and safety issue. Driver Profiler is part of a package of products available from RoSPA to help with this.
“Driving is the most dangerous work activity that the majority of people do. By offering organisations user-friendly solutions to help them manage their employees’ occupational road risk we believe we can contribute to reducing the tragic and costly toll of incidents on our roads.” Here you can find out more information on Driver Profiler
