RoSPA’s Driver Profiler Wins Top Innovation Award
A RoSPA online risk assessment tool, allowing bosses to measure the strengths and weaknesses of their employees’ driving without leaving the workplace, has won a top award for innovation.

RoSPA Warning on Fatigue Threat to Company Drivers
A new report on the dangers of driving while tired was a warning to all fleet managers of the need to tackle fatigue in their policies on managing occupational road risk, RoSPA said today (21/10/04).
The Department for Transport revealed this week that research on selected motorways and trunk roads showed that: 17 per cent of road crashes resulting in injury or death were sleep related; a quarter of all road crashes that caused death or serious injury were sleep related; 67 per cent of sleep-related crashes were caused by car drivers and 32 per cent were caused by drivers of good vehicles; while road crashes occur mostly on Fridays, these sleep-related crashes occurred least on Fridays and mostly on Mondays.

Minister tries SenseAbility at the NEC
SenseAbility drew a crowd at the Safety & Health Expo 2004, including Jane Kennedy, the Minister of State for Work at the Department for Work and Pensions (which has responsibility for Health and Safety at work). Delegates were invited to sit in a Toyota MR2 as SenseAbility was displayed on a plasma screen, and instead of pressing a spacebar users pressed a foot pedal to register their responses.

RoSPA Delivers Driver Training in Turkey
RoSPA trainers have just returned from Ankara, Turkey, where they were training and examining employees of ARGOS, a Turkish driver training company. They even managed to successfully avoid a collision in one training session - and we've got the photos to prove it!
