CPC National Passenger Transport

The Goods Vehicles (Licensing of Operators) Act 1995 was designed to implement EC Directives 96/26EC and subordinate legislation with regard to the occupation of road haulage operations.The regulations state that an operator who seeks a standard National Licence MUST satisfy the Licensing Authority that he/she is either professionally competent or employs someone as a transport manager who is professionally competent and is of good repute.

In this context, only an individual person can be professionally competent and to become this, the personmust pass the CPC examinations set by the Oxford, Cambridge and Royal Society of Arts, Examinations Board (OCR).

Course designed for:
This course is a prerequisite for those people either needing or wishing to hold the professional competence qualification for National Passenger Transport Operating Licensing in the UK. The qualification is also suitable for those who wish to become a Passenger Transport Manager, or wish to gain a deeper knowledge and insight into the legislation and operation of National Passenger Transport operations.

Module 1 syllabus
- Structure of law, business and company law
- Social legislation,financial management techniques
- Commercial conduct of business, general insurance
- Vehiclemaintenance

Module 3 & 5 syllabus
- Introduction, PCV conduct, taxation,marketing
- Financialmanagement, commercial conduct of business, methods of operating, service registration and licensing
- Other hire and reward operations, vehicle selection,weights and dimensions,mechanical conditions
- Driver hours and records, driving licences, speed limits, traffic accident procedure
- Insurance, route planning,mock examinations
- Structure of law, business and company law, industrial relations, social security
- Discrimination in employment, health and safety, financial management techniques
- Financialmanagement techniques, commercial conduct of business, business taxation
