Advanced Tests : RoADTEST
Why take the test? - Why should you be interested?
All drivers benefit from advanced driver training;
indeed it’s proven that advanced drivers are 25% less
likely to be involved in a road collision.
However, the pressures under which those who drive
for work purposes operate, and the ensuing tragic toll
and cost to business from work-related road
accidents, means that advanced driver training is
particularly important for business drivers.
Why take the RoADTest?
The risks occupational drivers face today are quite real. On average, over 3000 people are killed on our roads every year. Latest research suggests that a third of all fatalities involve those individuals driving as part of their work
Do you have the ability?
Typically a driver could expect to receive three days of training on a 2:1 basis with the third day involving the hazard perception assessment, theory and practical tests. The added flexibility also enables the programme to be spread over any period of time. This will allow time for the driver to consolidate and practice between sessions and to fit in with occupational requirements or an employers training schedule. Ideally we would suggest a two to four week interval between training days, although this can be condensed to shorter intervals, however for an effective habit changing programme, time is an essential ingredient. |
The test
The ROADTest programme is broken down into individual training modules, which are delivered by an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) with advanced driving qualifications and has completed an appropriate training course to deliver and in some cases test drivers in this qualification. The programme culminates with a hazard perception assessment and a multiple choice theory and practical driving test.
Price: £70
Other benefits
Research indicates that drivers trained to the advanced standard are 20% less likely to be involved in an accident. Apart from being safer on the road, you could also gain from:
● Reduced accidents/ incident claims
●Drivers have the ‘tools’ for their job
● improved fuel consumption,
● less wear and tear on your vehicle.
And that's not all - an often overlooked reason for taking the test is the challenge of improving your driving. You will be proud of your achievement, become more skilful and more confident as your driving is safer and more systematic. Advanced driving is about enjoyment, skill and safety; it's not about stress and speed.

Any Drivers participating in this course can now upgrade to a Level 2 BTEC in Driver Development
